Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art.

Leonardo da Vinci

Gryphon Studio is a relatively small indie team of highly motivated and passionate people willing to bring history and affordable art into lives of people and especially children. We are located in the center of Europe although some of our talented colleagues travel a lot or work at a distance.

Our belief is well phrased by one of the most gifted people of all times – Leonardo da Vinci. We believe that a human talent spent on just making money is doomed to become a pop-culture machine spare part, while a true artist is always inspired by his internal passion and willing to share his achievements with all others. Thereby he internally enlightens them and develops spiritually together with them.

Gryphon (from Greek: γρύφων) is a legendary creature, usually portrayed with the head, talons, wings of an eagle, and the body of a lion. Since classical antiquity, griffins were known for guarding treasures and priceless possessions. In Greek mythology, it was one of the symbols of Apollo – pastoral deity and patron of Art. Because the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts, and the eagle the king of the birds, by the Middle Ages the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. Later In medieval European heraldry, the Gryphon became a Christian symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine.
